Cynthia J. Hand, Esq. Graduates Leadership Orange Program
The law firm of J&G Law, LLP (J&G) is excited to share that Cynthia J. Hand, Esq., an attorney concentrating in estate planning, has successfully completed the Leadership Orange Program – Class of 2023. Cynthia participated in a graduation ceremony on June 13th, alongside her fellow classmates at Winding Hills Golf Club in Montgomery. Cynthia is among the distinguished J&G attorneys who have also graduated from this esteemed leadership program including Gary M. Schuster (2022), Michael Wagner (2019), Kelly A. Pressler (2018), Rebecca C. Johnson (2018), and Managing Partner, Michele L. Babcock (2011).

Leadership Orange, a nonprofit organization located in Orange County, New York, is the county’s premier leadership training program. In 1992, local community and business leaders established Leadership Orange to identify and cultivate the next generation of leaders in Orange County.
Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2002, from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA with a major in Political Science.
Cynthia earned her Juris Doctorate in 2006 from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut where she was a member of the Tax Law Society and concentrated in Federal Taxation. Cynthia completed a study abroad program while in law school in Florence, Italy with Penn State Dickinson School of Law.
She is currently serving as President of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties (WBAOSC) where she previously served as President-Elect, Recording Secretary and Treasurer. She also served as the delegate to the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. Cynthia is the recipient of the 2022 Outstanding New Lawyer Award from WBAOSC.
Cynthia is admitted to practice law in New York (2009) and Connecticut (2006). She is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties, the Orange County Bar Association, as well as the New York State Bar Association. Cynthia is also a recipient of a 2022 Rising Star from Junior League of Orange County, Inc.
Cynthia resides in Goshen where she currently serves as a Village Trustee. Over the past several years, Cynthia has been an active member on various municipal boards including the Town of Goshen Planning, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Environmental Review Boards. She also served as a member and later became Chairperson of the Town of Goshen Board of Assessment Review.
