George Lithco, former Partner and currently Of Counsel at J&G Law, LLP, is an experienced land use and environmental law attorney with over three decades of legal practice focused on land use, environmental regulation, and municipal law.

Since joining the firm in 1988, George has represented private clients before municipal planning and zoning boards of appeal, as well as state and county regulatory agencies across New York. He has also represented a wide range of municipal clients, advising their legislative bodies, planning and zoning boards, and building officials, offering trusted guidance in regulatory compliance and land use law. In addition, he also represents fire districts.

A Seasoned Land Use and Environmental Law Attorney

As a seasoned land use and environmental law attorney, George brings strategic insight and in-depth legal knowledge to complex cases involving SEQR, wetlands and other environmental regulations, zoning, and land development issues.

George is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Awards in both Land Use Law and Property Law, recognizing his academic excellence and legal acumen.

Before beginning his legal career, George served in the U.S. Army and as a member of the United States Foreign Service, where he was appointed Vice-Consul at the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz and received his Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law in 1987. George was admitted to the New York and Connecticut State Bars that same year and is authorized to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
