J&G Law obtains plaintiff verdict for unjust enrichment on behalf of client.
Senior Counsel Gregory Picciano obtained a plaintiff verdict for unjust enrichment in favor of his client. In the lawsuit, the plaintiff made several payments to the defendant general contractor to plan, construct, and renovate a new building for a daycare center. The project was contingent on a small business administration loan that required the defendant to submit detailed itemized costs of the work and labor to be performed. The defendant failed to submit an itemized breakdown of the estimated costs, forcing the plaintiff to locate another facility that required less renovation. The defendant never performed any of the work it was paid to do—and never returned to plaintiff any of the money it was paid.
The Court agreed with Mr. Picciano’s arguments and ruled for the plaintiff, holding that the defendant general contractor was unjustly enriched at the expense of plaintiff.
